Back Again, at least for awhile

June was really a crazy month and I am so glad that it is over. Hopefully I will get back to some sense of normalcy this month.

We didn't get to go to Salt Lake this month. We had planned to be gone the first two weeks of this month to visit our daughter, Jayne and our granddaughter, Kristin, her husband Craig and my sweet little Sullivan (Sully). It's disappointing but at least we will get to see Krisitin, Craig and Sully when we go to Sue's family reunion in Newport Beach later this month. I should be feeling lots better by then.

It is such crazy weather here. Our dew point is at 70 so it has been very very humid. I don't mind hot weather when it is dry, but with the humidity, it's truly awful. It just saps everyone's energy and when you don't have a heck of a lot to begin with, it can be pretty horrible. I just wish that I could get over this terrible dizziness.

I did get a great report today on my chemical stress test. No problems found, so probably will never know what caused my stupid pain when I had to go to the hospital when Sue and most of the family were here for their annual golf trip. It is such great fun. The guys go golfing every morning and the rest of us sit around and visit and just relax. I usually have a whole lot of goodies baked in advance so there is never any reason for anyone to be really hungry. I was so bummed though when I couldn't be here for Sue's birthday celebration. I should have just stayed home because the pain went away about a half hour after I hit the emergency room, but they made me stay overnight anyway. I did write about that experience before. I was just glad to get out of there early the next day.

I am going to try to catch up reading some of my great blogging friends posts tonight. I may not get around to all of them because It is only 7:00 and I am already feeling tired. It seems like I spend most of my time in my chair. Dick did buy us a new chair for the office though and I must say it is a lot more comfortable, so maybe I'll be able to sit here longer than I thought.

Thanks for all your concerns and good wishes that you have sent my way. I appreciate all of you dear blogging friends.

My very best to you all,

Darlene

  1. Sometimes there is a peace about having quiet time and taking it easy...but not when you know you are missing out on family fun, huh? I certainly hope they find out what is wrong so you can feel strong again!! Being dizzy is never fun! Nor is humidity!! We really have it here this week!!
Hopefully you can rest and will be feeling better soon so that when they family is there, you can make your goodies and enjoy!! I'll be sending good wishes!!!

  2. I'm glad you're feeling a little better, but hopefully you can be 100% soon! The humidity is a constant our here...I grew up in it and I'm pretty used to sweating when ever I have to do anything outdoors this time of year! You sound so much like my Mom when she's expecting company...she bakes up a storm and tries to do too much..so take it easy and enjoy family time! Thanks for all your sweet comments on my blog. I enjoy hearing from you!

  3. I am glad to hear that your chemical stress test turned out okay. Sorry you missed getting to visit with little Sully but you have another chance coming up and that is good. Hope you are doing well and feeling super great by the end of the month and you enjoy the reunion. Keep getting better and better, praying for you sweet Darlene. Hugs

  4. I'm so glad to see you back - and I hope you're feeling 100% soon. Stress - even if it's hidden - does funny things to our bodies so try to let others take over a bit and conserve your energy, at least while you're healing. (Not ever easy for women to do, I realize!) But you want to be sure to be feeling well for your family reunion later on, so take good care of yourself! Best wishes to you as always -

  5. How disappointing that you didn't get to come out to UT and see that sweet little grandbaby of yours. I am so sorry about that. But I am very relieved to hear that the chemical stress test was fine, and that your pain is gone. Especially that you will get to see everyone soon. That is exciting.
I have to say, I have never experienced humidity. I am sorry about it, though. I wish it were not so miserable for you. Tall drink of water. That is the best remedy I can think of.

  8. That's wonderful the pain is gone but you did the right thing by going to the hospital that night. Much better to be safe than sorry.
Being dizzy is awful. Is it getting any better?
